Thank you Cami. Yes, her eyelashes are very soft. They are much softer than the eyelashes of several of my daughter's newer dolls.
A member asked what dolls I have. They are my daughter's and she has many and loves each and every one Several were purchased new, but the majority are gently loved acquired second hand. They are.... Felicity, Elizabeth, Kirsten, Molly, Addie, Kit, Samantha, Kaya, Josefina, AGOT "Elise", and the mini set.

Member Smoredrama mentioned that this doll had developed "silver eye". THANK YOU for bringing this up. I did notice that one eye is a little different than the other. I had wrongly assumed that at AG doll creation sometimes the eyes were installed not being a perfect match. Can someone tell me how such a thing (silver eye) develops...too much light? How can I protect my daughters' other dolls from developing this? Again, thanks for all the incredible information. I have learned more in the last two days from so many helpful members on this board than in my daughters entire time of collecting! THANKS TO ALL!

(This is my understand of silver eye) Silver eye is caused when the paint seperates from the glass. It is considered a manufactors defect- so it is replaced for free. I THINK that it only happens in the older dolls- because they fixed the process when they realized it happens.
It can be caused by moisture in the eye, but some people have said it just happens. My Kirsten (1990) is slowly developping silver eye- you can see a close up in my "Samantha finds a box" album- the last picture- link in signature, but other members have said that it can happen overnight. I don't believe there is anything you can do to prevent it- but you can do your best to keep any sort of moisture out of the eye.
This is also important because moisture can cause the eyes to rust- which is not a defect that is replaced for free. You would have to buy the new head yourself.

I'm really not expert enough to add anything helpful..
But she's just a lovely doll and looks so cute in Sam's meet dress.

Hi! Welcome to the board! I'm a longtime AG collector (about 17 years now). Here are some observations I have, based on your pictures.
* I have a very old, white-torso Molly. Older Molly dolls also had gray eyes. This doll looks like she has blue eyes.
* It doesn't look like she has silver eye to me. (I have a doll with silver eye.)
* One way to check for a Molly wig is to look for sideburns. I don't know if newer Molly dolls still have these, but the first ones had hair cut right above the ear. This might be easier to find than hairs cut in the back.
* As others have mentioned, the tags on AG dolls are basically meaningless, unfortunately. They only indicate copyright, which was filed in 1986. Theoretically, any doll could have the same copyright tag. It's like a book. You can buy a book published in this century that was copyrighted in the last century. Copyrights are not a reliable way to indicate creation date.
* The wig looks somewhat different. It's a bit too dark to be Molly's, and too straight to be Samantha's (plus the eye color is wrong). I don't personally think she's Molly or Samantha.
* I think she's a "Bidadis" doll. "bit a dis, bit a dat." She has Samantha's dress, but she might be an AGT, as others have guessed.
Either way, since she was given to you, you got a great deal! You can decide what doll she will be--which could be very fun. Rewigged (historically speaking), I think she'd look the most like Kirsten. Her eyes remind me of Kirsten's.
I hope you enjoy it here on the board, and enjoy your new doll.

Pretty doll. I also think I can see a bit of silver eye too though. I have to say though, that picture of the artist mark by the doll's ear is one of the clearest I've ever seen.
Welcome to the board--it really is a great one.

This is so wierd!
I bought a 'Samantha' on ebay, that was AGOT 9, in Samantha's clothes. She was INSISTING a****tly that it was Samantha. She bought it in 1996-7 and it to has those body tags. One eye is silvered too. She said that she barely let her daughter change the clothes or brush the hair...
I don't think that I actually convinced her that it wasn't. Is it posible that AG had a mix up and sent out AGOT as Samantha?
Does anyone have any thougts about this?

Now that I've seen the pictures, I'd have to say she definately looks like an AGT.
